The Game Changer for Finding Investors: General Solicitation

FW Attorneys John A. Leonard and Gil B. Selinger presented on the biggest change to come about in raising capital for startups in a long time, the lift on the ban on General Solicitation and General Advertising in private offerings of securities. On July 10, the Securities and Exchange Commission issued final rules and regulations on raising money using advertising, including new Rule 506(c). The universe of private securities will no longer be controlled by who you know, but by how you can present and sell your business plan to potential investors who may seek you out, as much as you seek them. John and Gil as they parsed new rule 506(c), the intricacies of raising capital and sourcing investors using the newly available General Solicitation.
