Katie advises clients in the real estate and natural resources sectors, with a primary focus on commercial purchase and sale transactions, including those involving court-appointed receiverships. Her practice includes drafting and negotiating commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, easements, covenants, and a wide range of other real estate-related contracts. She works with local municipalities to secure entitlements for her real estate clients, helping them navigate zoning, permitting, and regulatory processes.  Katie also has experience assisting clients with property subdivisions to maximize land use and value. Katie handles the financing aspects of real estate deals, including the preparation and negotiation of loan documents. She regularly works with investors, developers, and receivers to facilitate and close complex real estate transactions.

With a strong background in oil and gas law, Katie represents both landowners and operators in mineral title matters and energy-related transactions. She has extensive experience conducting title examinations and preparing drilling and division order title opinions. She has worked on complex state, federal, and tribal title involving water and land use issues. Her practice also includes negotiating and drafting surface use agreements, well plugging and abandonment contracts, solar leases, and related agreements for renewable energy development. Katie frequently assists estate planning clients when those estates include complicated mineral or oil and gas interests.

Katie draws on her experience in both in-house and private practice roles to offer clients practical, business-minded solutions and risk management strategies. Her attention to detail, shaped by years of title and transactional work, allows her to navigate the nuances of each deal with precision.

When she’s not in the office, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and chasing after their toddler. You’ll often find her hiking local trails, visiting the Denver Botanic Gardens, and exploring the Denver Art Museum.
