Real Estate Associate
Fairfield and Woods, P.C. (FW), a well-established law firm in Denver, Colorado, is seeking an Associate attorney to join our Real Estate Department.
The appropriate candidate for this position will have over four years of real estate experience, in a law firm or in-house legal department setting, with the ability to successfully handle a variety of real estate matters. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex real estate matters, interact with clients, and contribute to the success of our firm. We are looking for an individual with a foundation in excellent legal research, writing, and analysis who desires an opportunity to learn and grow with our firm and our excellent team of real estate professionals.
Relevant work experience may encompass a range of areas outlined below (proficiency in all or most is not a requirement):
- Advising clients on property acquisitions, sales, leasing, and development.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate contracts, including purchase agreements, leases, and financing documents.
- Conducting due diligence (title, zoning, environmental) to assess risks and ensure legal compliance.
- Representing clients in transactions, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
- Providing legal guidance on complex real estate matters to internal teams and clients.
- Proficiency in title insurance, survey review, and closing procedures.
- Familiar with tax assessments and trustee foreclosures.
Qualified candidates will have:
- 4-7 years of relevant legal experience.
- Strong knowledge of relevant law.
- Excellent writing, communication, analytical, and legal research skills, and ability to manage and prioritize tasks and deadlines.
- A JD from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Colorado Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
- Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, exceptional work ethic with willingness to accept project responsibility, and solid communication skills with direct interaction with partners and clients.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act (CCIOA) and/or HOA law is a plus.
- Portable business is an added plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary range for this position is $125,000-$160,000/year based on education and experience, as well as a bonus program. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
