Commercial Litigation Associate
Fairfield and Woods, P.C. (FW), a well-established law firm in Denver, Colorado, seeks an Associate attorney to join our Litigation Department.
The appropriate candidate for this position must have the ability to successfully handle a variety of civil litigation matters, with the ability to meet deadlines in a collaborative and professional environment. We are looking for an individual with a foundation in excellent legal research, writing, and analysis who desires an opportunity to learn, litigate, and grow with our firm and our excellent team of litigation professionals.
Relevant work experience and skills:
- Experience in commercial litigation, including federal and state court proceedings, administrative hearings, and other legal forums.
- Skilled in researching, drafting, and arguing motions and briefs; proficient in all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions, managing discovery and ESI, as well as trial preparation and participation.
- Proven ability to negotiate settlements and engage effectively in mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
- Strong capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent legal writing, communication, analytical, and research skills, with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Qualified candidates will have:
- 4-8 years of relevant legal experience.
- A J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Colorado Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
- Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, exceptional work ethic with willingness to accept project responsibility, and solid communication skills with direct interaction with partners and clients.
Preferred qualifications:
- Construction defect or employment law experience is a plus.
- Bench or jury trial experience.

Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary range for this position is $125,000-$160,000/year based on education and experience, as well as a discretionary bonus program. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
